Former Red Sox First Baseman Bill Buckner Dies At 69

Being remembered for a mistake is hard. Being the living symbol of 86 years of futility is just about impossible.

But that’s exactly what Bill Buckner was to Boston Red Sox fans for nearly 20 years.

Buckner, an All-Star and Gold Glove baseball player who played in the major leagues for 22 years, died Monday. He was 69.

Bart Starr Green Bay Packers Quarterback And ‘Ice Bowl’ Hero Dies At 85

Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr died Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. He was 85 years old.

Starr, who played for the Packers from 1956 to 1971, was the first quarterback in history to win five NFL championships. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.

In a statement on the team website, Green Bay Packers historian Cliff Christl wrote that Starr was “maybe the most popular player in Packers history.”

The revelation by Bridget Namiotka was made in response to a now-deleted Facebook post on Sunday in support of Coughlin, USA Today reported.

Tyreke Evans disqualified from NBA for 2 years

The NBA announced Friday that guard Tyreke Evans has been dismissed and disqualified from the league for violating the terms of the NBA/National Basketball Players Association anti-drug program.

Under the program, he is eligible to apply for reinstatement in two years.

Evans, 29, played for the Indiana Pacers this season, averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.3 minutes per game. He was due to become a free agent this offseason.
