PARIS — Roland Garros keeps changing look and shape in the 21st century. It is vaster and more avant-garde, and perhaps it will become less crowded in the passageways as tennis fans shuffle from match to match.

The No. 1 Court, known as the bullring, will soon be demolished. The No. 2 Court, with its enchanting lack of symmetry, is already gone.

Even the main Philippe Chatrier Court, where Rafael Nadal won his 12th French Open singles title on Sunday,

It’s Federer vs Nadal a Grand Rivalry Reborn in the French Open Semifinals
  • By michael@cvcteam.com

PARIS — After a false dawn in Indian Wells, Calif., three months ago, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are well and truly set to renew their rivalry.

It has not been as edgy as Federer’s with Novak Djokovic, not as prolific — nor as routinely draining — as Nadal’s with Djokovic.

But Federer-Nadal — or Nadal-Federer if you are respecting Nadal’s 23-15 head-to-head edge — has been transcendent just the same.

When you shoot a 68 while playing in the final pairing of a PGA Tour event and your playing partner stalls out, you’re supposed to win the golf tournament. Instead? Adam Scott, playing with 54-hole leader Martin Kaymer in the final pairing, went 34-34 after starting two up on Patrick Cantlay (playing in front of them) but got absolutely torched down the stretch.

That’s because Cantlay went out and shot a filthy 8-under 64 to take the second PGA Tour event of his career by two over Scott and four over Kaymer (who shot 72).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a tense and daring reboot of the beloved shooter series

The shift seems aimed at regaining some of the grit and, at times, controversial appeal of the original Modern Warfare franchise, which mixed action movie theatrics with more politically aware plotlines. Starting with 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the series set itself apart as one willing to take risks, like the disturbing “No Russian” terrorism scene in Modern Warfare 2 that urged players to take part in an airport civilian massacre,

Shortly after announcing on ESPN’s “Get Up” Tuesday that his path to becoming a lottery pick in the 2020 NBA draft would go through pro basketball in an Australian league next season rather than Kansas, Memphis or Texas Tech, R.J.
