The first celeb proposal of 2020 is complete!

We officially have the first celebrity engagement of 2020! Actor Wilmer Valderrama wasted no time in the new year to propose to his girlfriend Amanda Pacheco and based on the photos, the moment was definitely uber romantic. The That 70’s Show actor chose the shores of La Jolla, California to pop the question to Pacheco. With the ocean in the background and the sun shining, Valderrama bent down on one knee. Afterwards, the actor shared a candid shot from the epic moment on Instagram writing, “‘It’s just us now’ 01-01-2020.”

Using the same caption and image, Pacheco shared the news on her Instagram account, too. However, her post included details on the best part—the ring! Valderrama proposed with a gorgeous pear-shaped diamond set on a gold diamond-flanked band.

The couple’s celebrity friends seemed to be very happy for the pair, with many leaving congratulatory comments on their posts. “This makes me so so happy,” wrote Dave Grutman while Kevin Jonas left raised hands emojis. Eva Longoria also wrote a string of clapping hand emojis along with the word, “ahhhhhh!”

Pacheco and Valderrama have been linked since April 2019, and even attended Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’s French nuptials together over the summer. Prior to dating Pacheco, the actor famously dated singer Demi Lovato for six years before the pair called it quits in 2016.

Congratulations to the newly-minted fiancés! We can’t think of a better way to start a new decade.
