Today I’m leaving my studio You Threw Off My Groove shirt . I’ve packed up endless props, test prints, and costumes dusted with powder paint and mud. I arrived at this place with after I’d given up my career as a fashion designer to follow my dreams and see if I could survive as an independent artist. It’s been emotional digging back through all this stuff the first magazines the pictures were ever featured in, first exhibition posters, notepads full of sketches and storyboards of ideas. This series really has felt like a lifetime and I nearly gave up so many times along the way. In the middle of it all I found the Sweater. My mother read to me that influenced so many elements in the series a little unknown book called ‘Moonlight and Fairyland’.

So, I got these because I need them to wear as a black work shirt. I had to wear one of my dads big shirts and I like how it wasn’t right around the arm pits. So I decided to browse online for some men’s shirts to wear. I wear a large in woman’s because I like extra room with my shirts, so I got a men’s medium in this brand. The shirt is snug, yet loose. It is loose around my arm pit area which is a blessing. I cashier, but sometimes I am running around and stocking or looking for stuff for customers. This shirt is perfectly comfy and I am so happy with the purchase!

You can’t go wrong with these. The fabric is soft and the sleeves and torso seem to have a little more intentional length added to them–both plusses in my book for a casual t-shirt. I ordered a medium and, with about a 16.5” neck, the rim of the collar comes right up to my neckline–fine for me but might perhaps be a potential warning for guys who are a little more husky or athletic. I personally love them and will be buying again.

We’re on lockdown so when it came to size I already knew. We’ve brought this brand in stores before so we were fine, except?! Our son and grandson seen that I got a lot of the long sleeves so they thought it was theirs? Really it’s for my husband,lol… Aloha from Honolulu Hawaii
