I want Veteran Not for the weak shirt. Gregory Peck was just fantastic as were all the players from Mary Badham, to Phillip Alford to Robert Duvall & Brock Peters. What a wonderful tale. Half of those on the list would deserve the award. I’ll choose To Kill a Mockingbird since Gregory Peck is a favourite of mine. (Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft did give astonishing performances in The Miracle Worker. Baby Jane was not only weird but gave me nightmares.)

Best Veteran Not for the weak shirt

So many great movies that year. My favourite is to kill a Veteran Not for the weak shirt, also my favourite book. The Miracle Worker. Then Lawrence of Arabia. Manchurian Candidate. Baby Jane is just weird. Gregory Peck is flawless as a lawyer and father. There really are too many choices. Love Gregory Peck in this movie. Fine actor and gentlemen. Handsome and charming.

I have mentioned to many people that even to this day, I cannot believe Patty Duke could play that part as she did. These are all such great movies. They don’t make them like this anymore. Wow, what a great year for films! So diverse! I love them all, Lawrence of Arabia is a masterpiece, but I also love Manchurian Candidate, Miracle Worker, Jules, and Jim! The early 60s a lot like late 30s in terms of the number of outstanding movies released each year.
