The terms “white collar” and “blue collar” originated from this time period. “White collar” men often had rigid, ruffled collars that stood straight up, keeping the head from nodding downward and giving the impression that such a man was “looking down his nose.”Styles changed as the 19th century rolled along and white without embellishments became favored over the stiff decorative collars. The style was adopted by tennis players, followed by Ivy Leaguers as part of an East Coast trend copying John F. Kennedy’s nonchalance. Eventually, polo became officially part of the men’s fashion world.

The size I bought turned out to be too large but since I wear these under my uniform shirt I can roll up the sleeves a little and use them anyway. they do boost the warmth level of my clothing.

These shirts feel very comfortable and the material is good quality but I believe they run on the larger side. Normally I’m a size large but fortunately I read the other reviews and went with the Medium. I’m 6′ 180 lbs and the medium fits me perfect. If I had went with the Large I think it would have been too baggy and not fit as well. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.

Great product and worth the money.
