To the nurse who held my hand and whispered everything would be okay, when our daughter was born too early. To the lactation nurse who took charge of the situation. To the nurse who advocated for me when I didn’t know how. The nurse who stayed up with me at 2am, rubbing my back because the side effects of the drugs made me itch so terribly after my c/s. The night after I had Nice Just Another Card Playing Life Saving Nurse tShirt my night shift nurse, at 1am, sat in the bathroom with me for over an hour. Because that’s how long it took for me to FINALLY pee after having my foley cath removed! Over an hour, people!! I could’ve been sitting in there alone, crying b/c I couldn’t go. She CHOSE to sit with me to help me relax and feel comfortable. And I finally went! I will NEVER EVER forget that long night. From one nurse to another, thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Y’all we definitely don’t have time for games.
