If social media was fuelling my illness, I would delete it. There, problem solved! Social media is largely image-driven and addictive. Though obviously not a cause, I can definitely see how it adds another significant layer of complexity to the disease. It’s not sexy it’s not clever. We weren’t born to survive on fresh air for god sake. Too many bloody catwalk models size stupidly thin. Be realistic people. Yes, the My Ranger Academia shirt but then there’s just plain idiocy. But, I don’t agree. If I did, then all alcoholic beverages and stories should be banned, any and all stories of sexual abuse should be banned, etc.

It was her addiction that brought her to that sight. She would have found another medium to access her disease. Talking about anorexia as if it were a My Ranger Academia shirt is a real problem. Instagram does not promote anorexia. It is people posting this stuff. Just cause and have commercials for all this food for $1 or $5, doesn’t mean you should eat 3 big macs.
That’s your fault for eating so much and gaining weight. Nobody puts a My Ranger Academia shirt to your head. These are the choices you make. If Instagram or socials, in general, were the problems I wouldn’t be going on 8 years recovered and I’ve been on Instagram every day. In fact, I’d say in my case one influence that definitely impacted me positively on my road to recovery was social media.
