Even when everything is doing great and I’m happy, it’s always there. Like an eternal sadness, eternal despair haunting my every thought. Japan has the highest rate of suicide yet they still don’t give importance to mental issues. People with mental illness in Japan are afraid to get help because of the stigma they will face and society will not accept them. I remember the last time they failed me was when I was having a meltdown and I was scared because at that moment I felt like I am finally going to do it, so I called the hospital I’ve been having treatment to help me and send someone.

They told me they can’t help me because I haven’t been coming to them for my checkup in 3 months so I am out of Love is a Four Legged Word dog tshirt. I was so shocked by their response, I can’t believe they would let me die when I was crying for help. Luckily my husband came home and some of my friends came and helped me out. Looking back now, I am very disappointed in Japan’s mental health system, I just felt bad and sad for those who lost the battle and commit suicide for lack of support around them. I will pray for X soul, may he rest in peace.
