I’m so happy you are still involved in LRB I assumed you were not doing it anymore. I need Liverpool my birds better than your bird tshirt We went to the top of the Liver Buildings about 20 years ago. It was a very interesting experience. There’s a spiral staircase on the roof called the ‘chicken steps’ – it’s OK going up, but very exposed coming down. Was lucky enough to go up the Liver building to just under the feet of the Liver bird, when I was a child. Amazing views. Shared this before but this is my dad showing the view at the top of the Liverbird – 1973, climbed up for a bet whilst painting.
