The result is an engaging thriller full of twists as well as themes that are actually relevant to the role that technology plays in modern life. This one caught me off guard. It’s a quiet film that takes its time developing the relationship between a father and a daughter who have chosen to live in the wilderness. It’s a character driven movie that showed me some things I hadn’t seen before. And it manages to not fall into cliches as it easily could have. I mean, it’s probably gonna win Best Picture, right? I liked the soundtrack way more than I thought I would.

Lady Gaga feels natural on screen at all times and her chemistry with It’s my birthday and all i got was this oversized hoodie from vetements shirt  Cooper is what sells the movie. The scenes with them together in the first minutes or so are what make the movie worth it. It’s very good but enough people are talking about it so Good on ya, Netflix. So if Star is Born does win Best Picture, I really hope that Alfonso Cuarón wins Best Director. He’s been one of my favorite filmmakers for a while and I’m glad he got to make this huge yet intimate movie. The cinematography is the best of any movie this year. It contains one of the most horrific scenes that I have ever scene. I don’t know if I’ll ever watch it again but it was definitely an experience. If you’re okay with some subtitles, go home and stream this.
