Product Description

Ahead of his red carpet appearance In Case Of Accident My Blood Type Is Yarn Shirt . Porter spoke exclusively with Vogue about how his show-stopping Met look came together. He began by reflecting on this year’s theme. “Camp is often used as a pejorative,” Porter said. “What I love about having it at the Met Gala, and contextualizing camp, is it brings honor to a word and genre that can be discounted very often, or thought of as cheesy. When it’s done properly, it’s one of the highest forms of fashion and art.”

As he began brainstorming ideas, inspiration struck Porter after a phone call with Ryan Murphy, the creator of Pose In Case Of Accident My Blood Type Is Yarn Shirt .Murphy suggested that Porter do an ode to Diana Ross in 1975’s Mahogany, including several outfit changes. “I was like, ‘Okay, calm down,’ ” he said. Working with his stylist of one year Sam Ratelle, Porter landed on an interpretation of Ross’s Ancient Egypt–inspired look. He also cites additional references, such as Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra and Bob Mackie’s iconic costumes for Cher, while the Blonds designers Phillipe Blond and David Blond were inspired by ballroom fixture Pepper LaBeija. When it came time to finding his designers, Porter knew The Blonds duo was the right choice. He had attended the New York City label’s Fall 2019 runway show in February, which confirmed that camp was well in their wheelhouse.“It’s true modern-day camp,” he said of The Blonds. “They just are so good—the glitz and the glamour and the capes and bustiers!” Ratelle said the choice was obvious for him, too. “I knew that The Blonds had previously done an Egyptian-themed runway show, which I really loved,” he said. “And given the massive collection of Egyptian art the Met has, it was also our way to pay respect to that.” “To be honest, English is not my first language, so initially I had no idea what Camp meant. I thought we were going camping!” admits the Argentine-born de Betak. Once she researched the concept, she fully committed.

Bought size small for my son who is 13 and has Autism. I had him try it on and he disliked the cuffs of the sleeves. He has thin skinny wrists but it was bothersome to him so I cut it off and sewed it for him. The tags also are easy to rip off on the neck line which it nice. They are 100% cotton so I’m just going to assume they will shrink a bit but that’s why I bought these instead of children sizes.

The quality of these long sleeve shirts are great, the extra material around the wrists make it perfect as to snug them tight. However, I use these types of shirts underneath a regular polo or button-up shirt and I was hoping these would stay tucked in my pants when working. I bought an “L” and I use below the waist pants, so maybe that’s why they don’t stay tucked? Fruit of the Loom makes regular underneath shirts (short sleeves) that definitely stay tucked!

I am 6ft/184cm tall. The quality of these shirts are fantastic, very comfortable, not too thin and not too thick. I bought them for work but it turns out they’re so comfortable that I had to buy more so I could wear them at home during the harsh winter months because they’re cozy. The only issue and this is HUGE ISSUE, is that if you’re as tall as me (or even taller) it’s not going to be a perfect fit. The shirt is ABOVE THE BELT. These shirts are way too small in terms of LENGTH. If only it was 1 to 1.5 inches longer it would be perfect or if they at least gave us this option. It is what it is I guess.

If you decide to buy, keep this in mind. 4/5 stars and would buy again, but certainly not 5/5 due to this length of the shirt issue.
