Thanks to an influx of cheap clothing in the market, gents could easily showcase which group they belonged to or switch between them all. In the ’70s, people often wore bold and daring outfits.

While there were a variety of different looks for the decade, most of them incorporated eye-catching colors and patterns, a silhouette that was tight up top and loose down the bottom, and interesting textures, such as satin, suede, and corduroy I’d shove you in front of petsmart to save my best friend shirt . Essential items for the decade included bell-bottom and wide-leg pants, platform shoes, vests, long collared shirts, tight tees, turtleneck sweaters, and leisure suits amongst many others. Thank you for your interest in Trendteeshirts. During the beginning of the 1970s, there were several main fashion groups for men. However, many overlapped in style. For example, while gents could either be part of the hippie subculture or peacock revolution, it was likely that they’d wear bright colors and bell-bottoms no matter which category they were in. Thanks to the well-paying jobs and booming businesses, the seventies saw young men starting to dress in more unusual ways. These unique outfits often consist of bright colors and so the style was dubbed the peacock revolution. Along with the bold use of colors, the peacock’s appearance often includes satin shirts, hoodie shirts, long-sleeved shirts, women’s T-shirts, men’s shirts, 3-hole shirts, V-necks. The suit also has bright colors and unusual style. In particular, the design of double-breasted velvet and crushed velvet is common.

This tee fits as expected. I have a 38 chest and the medium fits well out of the package and hasn’t shrunk in the wash. Doesn’t pinch in the pits. Stays tucked in. (I don’t have a beer belly. I don’t suspect that there is enough fabric at the hem to cover one.) The neckline doesn’t sag. The sleeve at the wrist fits well without being either too tight or too loose. Just don’t roll them up on your arms while they are wet or they will stretch out and not be as comfortable. They wear well and hold up pretty well. No holes or ripped seams.

What do I mean? To put it simply, these shirts come in a wide variety of colors and styles, but are made of different materials: either 100% cotton or cotton/poly blend (heather). One of these you should embrace with your whole heart, and the other should be avoided at all costs. Let me explain.

First off, I’ll just say I’m tall and lanky, so this is just my review for how the shirts fit me. But I generally wear a large or medium, and most shirts fit me just fine. I have purchased several of these two-pack Amazon brand shirts and I can say pretty solidly that the soft, heather versions of the shirt all fit great. Slim fit, but not “skin-tight” fit. The bottom hem hits below the waist but not below the butt (at least on me.) Very comfy. Decent cut. Nice room in the shoulders. I wear them all the time. I own the dark gray, light gray, orange, and navy blue versions of these heather shirts.

HOWEVER. The all-cotton version of these shirts are pretty miserable. The material is stiff and somewhat thick. The cut is terrible. It is simultaneously too tight in the shoulders but baggy around your neck. It bunches up under your arms uncomfortably. Poorly made. I only wear these shirts around the house. When I tried it on for the first time, my wife literally said, “What’s wrong with the neck and shoulders of that shirt?”

So to summarize: heather version of these shirts are great, especially for the price point. 100% cotton version should not be worn by anyone in my opinion.

Great shirts. They are really good quality shirts for the price. Used to buy Kirkland brand shirts at Costco. They [Kirkland] have a better collar (just my opinion) but the collar on these shirts are acceptable.
