This was a special treat when I was growing up. My sister and I would share a can and savour the I may live in Maine but I’ll always have the Steelers in my DNA tshirt. I had some last year on vacation and yes, it still tasted great! I love Moxie but I think they’ve slowly changed the formula over the years to make it more palatable to the younger generations. Gentian root. I do not drink sugary beverages, but this could be made into a healthy drink if it did have real Gentian root extract and much less sugar.

Back when patients had their family bring in Moxie too them. Little did the nursing staff realize the patient was “lacing” his – her Moxie with liquor! I missed it for years, living in the quasi-South. Then, I discovered Amazon and now, I keep 2 cases on hand. I’m still stuck in VA after 22 years, but Moxie is my link to the Berkshires. My grandfather Smith had a wooden case in the basement. He would give us some. It’s kinda like Dr Pepper.
