Over the past two months, one trillion lists and listicles have been written on camp, stabbing at the idea of artifice and style and exaggeration. Andrew Bolton, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute and the effective arbiter of all things campy, sees these many definitions as the epitome of camp itself.

Camp as a verb is the first usage, in Molière’s 1671 play The Adventures of Scapin—an original copy of the play is displayed in a glass vitrine with a tiny figure of Scapin. Alongside fashion from Erdem’s Spring 2019 collection, you can read about camp as an adjective used in the 19th century as a code for homosexuality. Later, Oscar Wilde appears beside definitions of camp as a noun. Then Christopher Isherwood’s writings on high and low camp, and finally viewers will walk into a checklist-like square gallery where some of the 58 bullets from Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp’ ” are illustrated with items from the museum’s collection. The fabric is fairly comfortable for the price, not the best ive ever had, but cant complain. 200Ib guy 42″ chest, ordered a Large, seems to have shrinked a little or just a tighter fit (not like under armour base layer tight) But between a base layer and a relaxed fit in tightness. I believe I washed on delicate, dried on delicate and hung dry for the rest. Id say a medium/light weight, so you’ll have to pair with a warmer top layer, or a poly base layer. Great for work clothing! Also note there is itchy tags, not like the print on tag like you see in the pics.

I prefer men’s shirts for wearing around the house And sleeping. They tend to be longer and more relaxed fit. These are great for me. I ordered according to size guide and probably could’ve ordered a size up for a looser fit but they’re still really comfortable.

I’m 6’2” and the shirt goes right about to my belt. I wish it was a little longer, but I can’t complain. Classic fit, but tapered, but not flowing either. The weave feels almost a little starchy—it’s just slightly too stiff compared to what I’m used to, but it also feels sturdy and not like I’ll put a hole in it. The worst part of the whole shirt is that the tag is crinkly and annoying, so I ripped the tag off all four shirts I got. Can’t see the size anymore, but it was worth it for the comfort.

I love the shirt, just one problem. The tag is NOT a tear away tag. I may have been a little aggressive trying to tear it, and it tore part of the shirt with the tag. It’s okay because it’s just on the bottom left, but bad design. As long as you’re okay with a tag being there it’s a good shirt.

Got these for husband to wear while doing fix-it stuff. This was such an amazing deal, I hope it’s not slave labor making these. (Not totally joking.) Really, how do they sell four shirts for so little? Meanwhile, these are perfect for what we intended them for, and would probably be good in the winter as a long-sleeve underlayer.
