On the other side of my family, my mother’s parents were neglectful and Grandmamingo like a normal grandma only more fabulous and awesome shirt. They are all selfish, true racists, who couldn’t have given a flying fuck about my mother and me, even if they knew what my father did. My mother’s mother’s family came from around Austria-Hungary just before World War II, all of them abusive alcoholics. My mother’s father’s family came from Alabama, descended from Cherokee and Scotch-Irish immigrants, drug addicts and alcoholics all. There is no side of my family that carries any pride in their name. I am ashamed of the blood that runs in my veins because of these people.

The Grandmamingo like a normal grandma only more fabulous and awesome tshirt is the people my ancestors were once. In Europe, they were once nobility. In Asia, they once were samurai. In America, they once were the fierce Cherokee. How far their descendants have fallen! Don’t hate your family unless you have a good reason. In the end, a family is all we have, even if they are disappointing. My hope is to start my own family, end the cycle of abuse, and hopefully do better than the past few generations. I’m not sure if I will ever have the heart to tell my children who their ancestors became, and what my family was like. I do not want to burden them with this all.
