Bump’s first Easter shirt
Before I started working in a Bump’s first Easter shirt and learned all about leaching I would have done this in a second. Now my medical device mind is saying to itself are those colors leaching into the egg and have those dies been tested for human consumption. Some jobs ruin all the fun! Yes just for decoration. You can also use an acrylic sealer over the top so they keep for many years! I want to do this but it has been brought to my attention that perhaps the dye in the silk materials may not be food safe, and since eggshells are porous, it could be dangerous to eat the eggs. Was told this today after I bought my first silk scarf.

Offical Bump’s first Easter shirt
Bump’s first Easter shirt. At least for me, it didn’t. We used half silk and half cotton just for the fun of it. The cotton dyed better than silk. The silk didn’t dye at all. Please don’t eat the eggs after this! Silk dye is not meant to be consumed and eggs are super porous! Could do. It may be a bit fragile. Worth a try. You can also use an acrylic sealer over top of these so they keep for many years! We were taught in home economics to never boil eggs. Bring them to a boil in salty water. Remove from heat, cover and let sit in hot water around thirty minutes. The salt will make peeling easier.
