Product Description

It’s such a cheeky Boston Bruins Welcome To The Gahden Shirt the actor Josh O’Connor recently told Rolling Stone. “Just so cheeky, and I really liked wearing it because it was just a bit like [raises shoulders and winks], ‘Told ya.’” He was talking, of course, about the T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “I Told Ya” that has become the most-talked-about garment from Luca Guadagnino’s new tennis film about love, lust and (torn) ligaments, Challengers. The T-shirt is the work of the film’s costume designer and Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson, and what is particularly cheeky about the T-shirt is that it is not O’Connor’s. It is first worn in the film by his character Patrick’s then-girlfriend, Tashi (Zendaya). After a half-clad fight, he slips it on. An acrimonious breakup later and Patrick clearly never gave it back. He wears it again, some time later, on a day he knows he will bump into his ex. Their relationship might have ended, but turning up in her T-shirt is a reminder that they were once on intimate terms.

Other labels are going Boston Bruins Welcome To The Gahden Shirt a little deeper: Wales Bonner’s varsity jackets pay tribute to the historically Black Howard University and the first Congress of Black Writers and Artists held at the Sorbonne in 1956; one features studs inspired by the kora, a west African string instrument. For other brands, such as Gap x Palace, the reason for adopting the garment might be a little more utilitarian. “A varsity jacket is a really easy piece when you want to do a collab,” says Pelly. “You can easily be like, ‘Oh, let’s just put out a varsity jacket and put our patch on it and call it a day.” The varsity jacket’s perpetual spot at the heart of American style is easy to understand. “It keeps coming back because it was born cool, right?” says Clemente. The guys wearing them at Harvard were the cool kids writing the rules – these guys in the Ivy League set the trends for American menswear for the first 50 years of fashion,” she says. “It’s perennially cool.”
