A must have souvenir you won’t find anywhere else! This translates as the ‘Celtic Tiger’ which is a name put on the boom of the Irish economy in the nineties. Traces of this mythical beast can be seen in the form of clusters of huge building sites that sprung up overnight, and remained unfinished to this day. The tiger was brought to his knees by the ‘Recession. This original design by Lisa Van Eyck features two ‘Belle Birds’. We like to pronounce these as the ‘Belly Birds’, The smaller bird is similar to the bird on the old Irish penny, it likes to accompany the big bird! An Original design adapted by Lisa Van Eyck, in the style of the illuminated Irish gospel the Book of Kells. The design is similar to the bird on the old Irish penny, which was used before the euro came in 2001. We called this design the ‘Belle Bird’ which we like to pronounce as ‘belly bird’!
