The number of times I wonder what customer care they’ve been trained in. It doesn’t matter which WH Smiths I’ve been in there’s never ever enough staff and there’s never anybody on the shop floor to ask for help. It would be a travesty if WH Smith wasn’t towards the bottom. It’s terrible. Overpriced cards in particular, dingy, old fashioned displays, overselling of chocolate at the tills no, I don’t want a chocolate orange or a Tobler one with my ruler, thank you, terrible lighting, poor products. You can’t see some magazines at the back on the bottom shelves. Wish someone would open a chain of decent ones. As the advert should have said, Available in all good book shops, and WH Smiths. Tried to buy nearly £50 worth of books in our local store but they wouldn’t accept national book tokens despite being on the list of book tokens approved retailers. Ended up buying them from another bookstore online instead. Will not be going back to wh smiths again. So overpriced. Bottle of Evian water cost less than a £1 everywhere. Been the same for too many years. Very very expensive. What do they expect? Too much competition out there, and they are not adapting. Boots is another one, and they are on their way out.
