Doris Day, the sunny blond actress and singer whose frothy comedic roles opposite the likes of Rock Hudson and Cary Grant made her one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the 1950s and ’60s and a symbol of wholesome American womanhood, died Monday. She was 97.

In more recent years, Day had been an animal rights advocate. Her Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed her death at her Carmel Valley, California, home.

Fans disappointed they didn’t get an end-credits scene in the blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame” only had to wait about a week and a half for something better: a three-minute look at how much the Marvel Cinematic Universe has changed.

The new trailer for “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (in theaters July 2) has some of the same footage we’ve seen before – like Peter Parker (Tom Holland) having to swing into Spidey mode while on a class trip to Europe – but there’s a whole new context now after “Endgame.”

Time to get off the internet. A few hours ago, footage from tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones has leaked online, originating with one minute of footage circulating on Twitter showing an especially crucial scene. Since then, I believe the entire episode has leaked, but I am trying to avoid doing too much digging into this in order to avoid spoilers myself. This write-up of the situation will not contain spoilers of any kind.

Oscar-nominated director John Singleton dies at 51 following stroke

John Singleton, the Oscar-nominated director and screenwriter behind films like “Boyz n the Hood” and “Poetic Justice,” has died after being taken off life support following a stroke this month, his spokesperson Shannon Barr told USA TODAY Monday. He was 51.

His family said in a statement that Singleton “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends.”
