NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints suffered the most improbable loss of the season on Sunday, when they got steamrollered in their own Superdome 26-9 by the rival Atlanta Falcons.

It snapped a six-game winning streak for the Saints, who fell to 7-2. And it snapped a six-game losing streak for the Falcons, who are now 2-7.

Ohio State star defensive end Chase Young will not play on Saturday against Maryland while the school looks into what it is calling “a possible NCAA issue.” An official statement from the program did not elaborate on the length of Young’s absence or many specifics relating to the NCAA issue, only that it occurred “in 2018.”

According to Young himself, the issue stems from a loan that he took from a family friend.

The Eagles went into Buffalo Sunday and scored 31 points against the NFL’s No. 3 scoring defense, grinding out 222 yards and three TDs rushing in a commanding 31-13 win over the Bills.

So the Eagles are back to 4-4 after losing by 18 in Minnesota and 27 in Dallas. They’re only half a game and a tiebreaker behind the idle Cowboys.
