Auburn football team to honor Pat Sullivan with special helmet during Outback Bowl

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — During the Outback Bowl Wednesday, the Auburn Tigers will be paying tribute to one of their own.

In a message shared on Twitter Tuesday night, Auburn unveiled a special helmet with the “7” printed on the side to honor Pat Sullivan, a Heisman Trophy winner and former Auburn quarterback who died Dec. 1.

Sullivan was born in Birmingham and played football at John Carroll Catholic High School before going on to play for Auburn.

NEW YORK — Michigan State senior tight end Matt Seybert is not in uniform for Friday’s Pinstripe Bowl against Wake Forest.

Seybert was on crutches in a sweatsuit with a brace on his right knee as the Spartans went through pregame warmups at Yankee Stadium. He has started 11 of MSU’s 12 games this season and is third with 26 catches, 284 receiving yards and three TDs

The Spartans already are depleted at tight end without junior Matt Dotson (right Achilles).

Antonio Brown works out for New Orleans Saints, per reports

Despite playing in just one game this year, Antonio Brown nonetheless managed to be a dominant theme of the 2019 NFL season. So with the season’s finale two days away, Brown popped up once more.

According to Brown’s Instagram account and multiple reports, he was in the the New Orleans Saints’ facility on Friday. He posted a photo of a workout waiver and a video from the locker room — the waiver post was removed shortly thereafter.

The holiday tradition of airing A Christmas Story for 24 straight hours starts Christmas Eve on both TBS and TNT. TBS begins their 24-hour extravaganza at 8 p.m. while TNT starts their marathon at 9 p.m.

CLEVELAND — The road to the Super Bowl will go through Baltimore.

The Baltimore Ravens locked up home-field advantage with a 31-15 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, securing the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC for the first time in franchise history. Baltimore (13-2) has now won 11 consecutive games.

The Browns, meanwhile, fell to 6-9 with the loss and were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
