(CNN)Makeup guru and YouTube celebrity Jeffree Star announced some sad news to his fans: He and boyfriend Nathan Schwandt have called it quits.

Star made the announcement Saturday on Twitter, apologizing for the silence and saying he’s been “trying to heal.”
