BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona began erasing some of the bad memories from last season’s embarrassing Champions League elimination with a comfortable opening group win against Hungarian club Ferencváros on Tuesday.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring and two teenage teammates also chipped in to lead Barcelona to a 5-1 victory in its first Champions League match since the 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals last season.

In a statement, the magazine said it was investigating a matter involving the author and CNN legal analyst.

The New Yorker said Monday that it had suspended the staff writer Jeffrey Toobin after a Zoom call last week among employees of the magazine and WNYC radio in which he reportedly exposed himself.

“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera,” Mr. Toobin said in a statement about a report on Monday by Vice.

New York (CNN Business)C-SPAN said Thursday that Steve Scully, the network’s senior executive producer and political editor, has been placed on “administrative leave” for lying about being hacked earlier this month.

Scully admitted to “errors in judgement” and apologized in a statement.
And President Trump took a victory lap, proclaiming on Twitter, “I was right again!”
