Silverado Fire in Southern California critically injures two firefighters as it doubles in size

(CNN)Two firefighters suffered critical injuries Monday as they battled a fast-growing wildfire in Southern California.

The men suffered second- and third-degree burns while battling the Silverado Fire near Irvine, Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy told reporters.
The fire almost quadrupled in size later in the day, according to the fire authority, growing to 7,200 acres with no containment.

Fennessy visited the injured firefighters in the emergency room, but was unable to talk with the firefighters,
