While living in mexico, I had a Team Modelo lifetime member Shirt, I’ve never seen anybody drinking corona, but since I moved to texas, some usa born latino feeling mexican tend to drink them. I personally loved indio back then, and now in texas I drink shiner bock which is amazing. I think coronas is more of a stereotype than a reality. Most of the real mexicans I know living in the usa just drink miller lite or any other beer.

When I lived in mexico. I was taught not to call myself an american because we were all americans. They used norteamericana, but that Team Modelo lifetime member tShirt still includes canada and mexico. And the word estadounidense is a mouthful. Yes, it’s a technicality, but as a gringa I think it’s important for me not to claim to be a citizen of two entire continents.
