We descended 1300 meters and ended up in the river valley almost directly below where we started. Still like that old time rock ‘n’ roll that kind of music shirt so many switchbacks that it made up 8 km or trail. All of the canyons vegetation was very green because it is rainy season. Cactuses lined the trail to the maintain side, and towards the canyon were drops which would result in sudden death. This was not a place where it is advisable to trip. Condors soared overhead during the morning but, found shelter as the mid day sun scorched the canyon. We stayed in a village with three families the first night, and hiked to an oasis by the river the second day. There are three villages in the canyon and education is offered through primary school, but children have to go to nearby villages in the valley for secondary school.
