It performs like a champ when you’re on the move, which for many of you is exactly what you’re looking for. And at less than, in a number of colors and sizes, you can do a heck of a lot worse than Dry-ex material for your packing list. Outlier makes great travel clothing and the ultrafine merino might be my favorite. This is always my go-to know I’m hiking, biking, climbing, or just plain on the move—which means this is always in my bag.

No, really. I wore this while hiking through the blazing sun at noon and cruising through town for tapas on chilly evenings. It’s surprisingly versatile. This is an all-star for active travel, but also looks fantastic just walking around the city. If you have the means to upgrade your travel wardrobe, pick up an Outlier merino and enjoy top of the line comfort and performance. Honestly, Outlier and Unbound both qualify as quick dry, but if you’re looking for something for truly wet and wild environments and you only have a few bucks to spend you’ve still got a lot of options. My favorite quick dry is the Bonobos Softest Performance Tee for sheer wearability (with bonus style points). It’s a slim fit cut so it’s great for hiking and sports (no extra material), and the unique blend of means this jersey knit will feel like your favorite but dry like a polyester performance champ.

This shirt fit exactly as I wanted it to. Not to loose and not to tight. And OMY the sleeves were long enough for me. I weight 165 lbs 5’9 and it was not tight and not baggie. A perfect fit. I got an extra large and they did not shrink nor fade when I washed them. I love them. They by far exceeded my expectations. I plan to order more ( for myself) after Christmas.

What do I mean? To put it simply, these shirts come in a wide variety of colors and styles, but are made of different materials: either 100% cotton or cotton/poly blend (heather). One of these you should embrace with your whole heart, and the other should be avoided at all costs. Let me explain.
First off, I’ll just say I’m tall and lanky, so this is just my review for how the shirts fit me. But I generally wear a large or medium, and most shirts fit me just fine. I have purchased several of these two-pack Amazon brand shirts and I can say pretty solidly that the soft, heather versions of the shirt all fit great. Slim fit, but not “skin-tight” fit. The bottom hem hits below the waist but not below the butt (at least on me.) Very comfy. Decent cut. Nice room in the shoulders. I wear them all the time. I own the dark gray, light gray, orange, and navy blue versions of these heather shirts.
HOWEVER. The all-cotton version of these shirts are pretty miserable. The material is stiff and somewhat thick. The cut is terrible. It is simultaneously too tight in the shoulders but baggy around your neck. It bunches up under your arms uncomfortably. Poorly made. I only wear these shirts around the house. When I tried it on for the first time, my wife literally said, “What’s wrong with the neck and shoulders of that shirt?”
So to summarize: heather version of these shirts are great, especially for the price point. 100% cotton version should not be worn by anyone in my opinion.
