My issue is that I have the inability to sit back and watch a My first mother’s day shirt, heck, even just be uncomfortable, merely because their nurse elected to take an unplanned 45 minute break, is shopping on Amazon at the nurse’s station, is surfing their phone, trying to plan a vacation on night shift, gossiping with peers, the list goes on. Now, in other job arenas, I would be perfectly comfortable letting these peers sink their own ship, get crappy reviews, or unfavorable customer surveys. I think my biggest issue with the truly Lazy Nurse is that right or wrong, I perceive that they have unacceptably low standards for patient care.

And My first mother’s day shirt, I’m not talking about a nurse who is truly caught up with everything, as are their peers, on an aesthetically very slow night, who is doing some leisure activities. But that’s not super common. Again, this really isn’t super common in nursing. But it only takes one bad egg to make an already challenging shift infinitely harder. I’m sure nurses out there have better techniques than I do in coping with the Lazy Nurse. I’m sure some nurses do, in fact, let the nurse underperform, in an effort to let formal discipline catch up with them. Not saying it’s right or wrong. I’m just saying I have a hard time doing that.
