As a retired ER nurse, I find this to be absolutely unacceptable behavior by this I need a coffee the size of my ass shirt. I hope that the proper steps will be taken so this never happens again. This is how emergency departments operate in my experience. Someone very early on decides whether you are worthy/deserving of care and you are tracked accordingly. And the person that decides this is not a doctor. So frustrating. I feel so sad for this person.

I sat in an ER hallway 13 hours and I was brought in for in cardiac I need a coffee the size of my ass shirt. I just started laughing at one point it was so ridiculous. Poor staff training always keeps an eye on your pt and vitals did they have MD orders to DC o2 that was the first and biggest mistake? She never looked at me. I coded 20 minutes later. I was wearing scrubs, had my picture ID on, and had just finished my shift as an RN at the same hospital. A lot happens that the public will never know about. The majority of nurses do the best they can. The administration controls staffing and finances. Believe me, people’s well-being is not their highest priority. The spokeswoman said, “This is a rare occurrence in our emergency department”. That would imply it has happened before, wouldn’t it? I’ve been to that ER twice and they don’t have the staff to care for patients and/or evaluate them properly. They are unprofessional and have a rotten attitude. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
