I was pretty good before I found out I needed to stop eating wheat. Now I can not even get portions of ravioli right. My grandmother was 100% Italian and all of her recipes died with her. We were too young to learn them and nothing of course was written down. I work fulltime and have a family but I would give anything to be able to cook from scratch like her.

I showed my oldest grandson how to make these also, along with a few other family favorites. It’s so easy to use the excuse of time and choose the bought option but I would love to try. These videos make it so much more accessible and less daunting! A wonderful way to record tradition and techniques, as well as those charming ladies! This is kind of stupid and shamed, the skill isn’t going away, but not everyone needs to know how to make pasta in their homes. It’s just becoming a specialized thing.
