As he began brainstorming ideas, inspiration struck Porter after a phone call with Ryan Murphy, the creator of Pose Heart Choose To Keep Going Suicide Awareness shirt .Murphy suggested that Porter do an ode to Diana Ross in 1975’s Mahogany, including several outfit changes. “I was like, ‘Okay, calm down,’ ” he said. Working with his stylist of one year Sam Ratelle, Porter landed on an interpretation of Ross’s Ancient Egypt–inspired look. He also cites additional references, such as Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra and Bob Mackie’s iconic costumes for Cher, while the Blonds designers Phillipe Blond and David Blond were inspired by ballroom fixture Pepper LaBeija.When it came time to finding his designers, Porter knew The Blonds duo was the right choice. He had attended the New York City label’s Fall 2019 runway show in February, which confirmed that camp was well in their wheelhouse.“It’s true modern-day camp,” he said of The Blonds. “They just are so good—the glitz and the glamour and the capes and bustiers!” Ratelle said the choice was obvious for him, too. “I knew that The Blonds had previously done an Egyptian-themed runway show, which I really loved,” he said. “And given the massive collection of Egyptian art the Met has, it was also our way to pay respect to that.” “To be honest, English is not my first language, so initially I had no idea what Camp meant. I thought we were going camping!” admits the Argentine-born de Betak. Once she researched the concept, she fully committed.

I ordered a two-pack of these Slim Fit t-shirts and a two-pack of the Regular Fit t-shirts to compare and contrast. Both styles are made of the same thick cotton knit fabric, which is soft and substantial, but the fits are definitely different. These Slim Fit shirts are significantly tighter fitting in the stomach, arms, and chest area(s). The Regular Fit shirts are much looser in all three of these areas, especially the arms.

Compared to a Regular Fit I would categorize these as a Slim Fit not, a Snug Fit; they fit close to the body but not tightly enough to show something like muscle definition, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Overall the quality is nice, with minimal fading and only very minor shrinkage after laundering in cold water and putting in a medium dryer. Recommended if you like a close fitting, thick cotton t-shirt.

I wanted an oversize shirt for work at home fall /early winter days. This is warm and comfortable. I am a women and the men’s large was the perfect fit for me. I have a med frame 140lbs and it gives me room to move, no restrictions.

My friend is a bigger guy, he has a hard time finding shirts that the fabric is so extremely heavy that it doesn’t breath, or they are so cheaply made they sag and rip after a few washes. I was reluctant to buy this with out seeing/feeling it first, but we were pleasantly surprised when it came. It fit him just right. (5x) fits right at the waste, but isn’t a belly shirt when he lifts his arms. The decal doesn’t feel like it will peel off right away either.
