I can remember teachers that were absolutely wonderful. My 4th-grade teacher won teacher of the year that year. My 1st-grade teacher was also very good. But no matter how good they were, they couldn’t undo the damage of my 2nd-grade teacher.

I would come home crying almost every day because she was yelling, taking kids in the hallway to discipline them. Unfortunately, I can’t say with certainty what happened during the discipline but I do know the stories and rumors. When confronted by my mom about it, she told my mom. So in her mind, it was ok because she wasn’t yelling at me specifically. I also had a bad college professor who told me to give up. Just like all professions, there are bad apples. There are horrible nurses, doctors, police officers, customer service people, business owners, engineers, parents, etc but there are also ones that are beautiful and take their jobs very seriously.
