I gnoring people who were eating was the behavior that frequently resulted in being tossed a Coors Light flag America tshirt so that was how they asked for treats. I actually felt hurt when my dog turned his back on me in the car. I thought he was mad at me. Took a moment to remember that I had trained him to turn away if I had food. After figuring out what a pet or a child wants, seeks or needs we must first make sure that that need is met. Then we can pair reward with the behavior we want. The point is the first steps focus on our behavior not theirs. We need to figure out what we are rewarding?
