Some may wonder why I’ve felt the need to post this. The truth is, one day my daughters will likely have Facebook and I hope they read this and maybe understand me a little more than they already do. So as I’ve sat here today with my girls doing nothing I decided to take the Being A Single Dad It Not Easy Bit It’s Worthy I’m Proud Of It Shirt and put open to paper and just write a little bit on my feelings of being a single dad. I talk about to people about the happiness of being a single father, and I talk about the hardships. Like anything else in life there are moments of pure elation, moments that bring tears to my eyes (when my older one told me I am her best friend in the world), moments that if I could, I would freeze in time to hold onto forever; those moments that make it all worthwhile.

There are those other moments. I talk about these things as if they are normal life for me, and I do so because they are.  I’ve had some help. Between my sisters, sister-in-law, mother, and as of recent my ex, I’ve had some assistance. I say that, not to take away from my own efforts, but to acknowledge theirs. And yet, thankfully, since the very second it was required, with gods help, I have stepped up.
