Nearly 20 years later Alaska Airlines Airbus A320 Trending Hawaiian Shirt-1 a book called The Hawaiin Shirt by Tommy Steele was published. The book was written by Steele while collecting memory fragments of the person believed to be one of the people involved in the origin of the Hawaiian shirt – Mrs. Margaret Young. As she read through the book, however, she contacted the author to tell a more detailed story from her memory. Margaret recounts that a classmate, Gordon Young, was the first to wear the pre-Aloha shirt (the design is believed to be original before it was developed into today’s Hawaiian shirt) in the 20s. Gordon’s mother was a tailor and made him a shirt from the cotton fabric commonly used for making Yukata (a type of Summer Kimono) as well as other Japanese women’s kimono designs. Margaret said that Gordon’s shirts are often white with eye-catching motifs such as blue and black bamboo, or geometric patterns. She also shared more about the fact that in 1926, Gordon provided a lot of this shirt design to the University of Washington and since then the Aloha shirt has gradually become known to many people.
