CHICAGO — Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky injured his left shoulder on the first drive of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, forcing him out of the game for the remainder of the contest..

Trubisky fell hard on his left arm on a strip-sack by Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter on the sixth play of the game. Trubisky left the field and immediately went into the blue medical tent. After about five minutes, Trubisky exited the tent and headed for the locker room, and someone appeared to be holding his left arm as they walked.

He was ruled out of the game in the closing minutes of the first quarter.

Trubisky, the second overall pick in the 2017 draft, was replaced by Chase Daniel.

The injury was another setback for an already thin Bears squad. Taylor Gabriel, who had three touchdown receptions in Monday night’s win over Washington, was inactive with a concussion, as was starting right guard Kyle Long (hip). The defense was without three of its starters, with defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (knee) and defensive end Bilal Nichols (hand) hurt and linebacker Roquan Smith ruled out before the game for personal reasons.
