The Google Doodle for today, September 17, celebrates Michiyo Tsujimura, the groundbreaking late Japanese biochemist known for her research on green tea and its nutritional benefits. The educator and researcher was Japan’s first woman doctor of agriculture.

Gymnasts urge U.S. Senate to investigate Larry Nassar sexual abuse after botched FBI inquiry

WASHINGTON — Olympic gold medalists including Simone Biles and Aly Raisman on Wednesday detailed for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee the failure of the FBI to investigate dozens of complaints of sexual abuse committed by Larry Nassar, the disgraced team doctor for USA Gymnastics and a former Michigan State University physician.

The gymnasts also urged senators to investigate the institutions that enabled the abuse.

The 2021 season hasn’t even started yet, and the Baltimore Ravens are already in the midst of a disastrous injury situation.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed that cornerback Marcus Peters and running back Gus Edwards suffered torn ACLs and will both miss the season. The two were injured during back-to-back plays at Thursday’s practice, per Rapoport and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
