Rapper Nicki Minaj joined a long and varied list of musicians Thursday when she announced her retirement from music.

“I’ve decided to retire,” she tweeted, and “have my family.”

Many read the tweet as Minaj — who revealed in June that she and partner Kenneth Petty have a marriage license — declaring she is officially leaving the rap game to start a family. (CNN)Kylie Rae Harris, a rising country singer from Texas, died in a car accident on Wednesday in New Mexico, Alex Torrez, the CEO of her management company, Torrez Music Group, tells CNN. She was 30.

“We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night,” a statement provided to CNN from Torrez read. “We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time.”

(CNN)A California man has been arrested for allegedly selling rapper Mac Miller drugs laced with fentanyl days before his death, the US Drug Enforcement Administration announced on Wednesday.

Authorities say 23-year-old Cameron James Pettit and others agreed to sell Miller, whose given name was Malcolm James McCormick, 30 milligram oxycodone pills, as well as cocaine and Xanax, approximately two days before he was found dead in September 2018.

Coast Guard officials said eight people are dead and 26 are missing after a 75-foot commercial diving boat erupted in flames near the shoreline of Santa Cruz Island, Calif., early Monday.
